    Louisville, Ky., June 1, 2011 — Arcadia Communities, an operator of senior living communities headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky announced today that is has acquired The Trace Senior Living Community in Covington Louisiana.  The company plans to operate the 77 apartment community as The Trace and the staff and management will remain in place.  The exclusive 3-story residence for active seniors seeking Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services offers residents the opportunity to enjoy a carefree lifestyle in a community that offers quality service and care, spacious customized apartments, and tremendous amenities.

     The community was built in 2009 and has successfully stabilized with full occupancy at the time of acquisition.

  4. The Harbors Retirement Community to hold Open House and Ribbon Cutting June 5th

    The Harbors Retirement Community is pleased to announce we will hold its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this Friday June 5th at 1:00pm.  Invited Guests and all Former Hospital Employees are welcome to attend the Ribbon Cutting event.  We will hold an Open House from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for those guests.

    Menominee, MI. April 13—The Harbors Retirement Community is pleased to announce Great Northern Home Care, a prominent provider of Home Care services in the UP, will offer their services to residents of The Harbors.  “We are very excited that Great Northern Home Care will be offering personal care services to our residents who may need a little more care than offered at the Harbors,” said Kathy Scoggins, Executive Director of The Harbors.  “Their reputation for quality care, affordability, and convenience will surely benefit our residents at The Harbors should they need additional care,” said Scoggins.   

     

    Great Northern Home Care will offer flexible and affordable support services tailored to meet the specific needs of residents to allow them to maintain as independent lifestyle as possible.  Great Northern Home care will be available on site to offer services such as medication reminders and assistance, bathing, dressing and grooming assistance, assistance to meals and activities, and more.  “We understand there could come a time when a resident may need more assistance that the services and amenities provided by the Harbors,” said Scoggins.  “We feel these services will give our residents and their family peace of mind that additional care is available on-site when necessary with the sole purpose of supporting our resident’s independence.”

    The Harbors Retirement Community announces model apartment tours to be offered in the near future; Retirement Community also unveils new brochure and temporary website. 

    –Progress continues on the Harbors Retirement Community site, while community interest grows.  Management team prepares to show model apartments to those wishing to be among the first to select their apartment in landmark senior residence–   

     

    Menominee, MI. Feb. 20—The Harbors Retirement Community is pleased to announce they will begin providing tours of model apartments very soon.  “We continue to see significant progress being made on the building every day and anticipate offering limited tours in March,” said Brian Durbin, President of Arcadia Communities who manages the project. “The construction team is doing an unbelievable job getting the building ready to accept our first residents.  I was so impressed with the Moyle team’s conversion of the exterior of the building and am equally impressed with the conversion of the interior,” Durbin said.      

     

    “We are so pleased with how the resident apartments are turning out.  The apartments are very unique and spacious, with very tasteful finishes.  There are some amazing views within the resident apartments as well,” said Kathy Scoggins, Executive Director of The Harbors.  “We are putting the finishing touches on studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom models in order to give prospective residents an idea of how their apartments will look, and allow them to form ideas of how to lay out their furniture,” said Scoggins.  “We anticipate the models to be complete sometime in March at which time we’ll begin contacting those on our priority waiting list to schedule tours,” Scoggins said.  “Interested persons can call us at 863-3300 to get a brochure, make a deposit, and be among the first to tour the community,” Scoggins continued.

  8. The Harbors names Management Team, begins accepting Priority Reservation Deposits

    The Harbors Retirement Community is pleased to announce the hiring of two local residents to head its Management Team.  Kathy Scoggins has been named Executive Director of the retirement community scheduled to open in June 2009, and will oversee the day to day operations of the community.  Jill Schwanz has been named the Community Relations Director, and will oversee customer and community relations as well as other administrative responsibilities.

    “We are so pleased to have Kathy and Jill joining our team.  They have a real respect and appreciation for what this historical building means to the community and both understand the area’s need for the services we offer.  Kathy and Jill have a genuine passion for serving others and, in particular, a strong desire to enhance the lives of seniors in the community,“ said Brian Durbin, President of Arcadia Communities who manages the project.  “We couldn’t have found two more qualified individuals who know this community so well and have such solid professional backgrounds.  Kathy and Jill bring compassion, experience, and professionalism to their respective roles and are true assets in the community,” Durbin said.

    The site continues to undergo a complete renovation of the interior and exterior and when completed, the 80,000 square foot community will feature 60 spacious apartments including Studio, One-Bedroom, and Two-Bedroom Accommodations.   The goal is to create an environment where seniors are encouraged to live active, fun, and fulfilling lives and enjoy the comfort, convenience, and activities offered at The Harbors.
