The Harbors names Management Team, begins accepting Priority Reservation Deposits

Posted December 22, 2008

The Harbors Retirement Community is pleased to announce the hiring of two local residents to head its Management Team.  Kathy Scoggins has been named Executive Director of the retirement community scheduled to open in June 2009, and will oversee the day to day operations of the community.  Jill Schwanz has been named the Community Relations Director, and will oversee customer and community relations as well as other administrative responsibilities.

“We are so pleased to have Kathy and Jill joining our team.  They have a real respect and appreciation for what this historical building means to the community and both understand the area’s need for the services we offer.  Kathy and Jill have a genuine passion for serving others and, in particular, a strong desire to enhance the lives of seniors in the community,“ said Brian Durbin, President of Arcadia Communities who manages the project.  “We couldn’t have found two more qualified individuals who know this community so well and have such solid professional backgrounds.  Kathy and Jill bring compassion, experience, and professionalism to their respective roles and are true assets in the community,” Durbin said.

The site continues to undergo a complete renovation of the interior and exterior and when completed, the 80,000 square foot community will feature 60 spacious apartments including Studio, One-Bedroom, and Two-Bedroom Accommodations.   The goal is to create an environment where seniors are encouraged to live active, fun, and fulfilling lives and enjoy the comfort, convenience, and activities offered at The Harbors.

The Harbors is also now accepting Priority Reservation Deposits.  Interested persons can secure a spot on our Priority Reservation List and be among the first residents to choose their apartment by placing a $250.00 deposit with us by calling 1-906-863-3300 or emailing your interest to,  Deposits can also be mailed to The Harbors, 1110 10th Ave., Menominee, MI. 49858.   The deposit is fully refundable up until the day of move in.  If a resident should choose not to move in, the deposit will be promptly refunded.  Priority Reservation Deposits will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.  With only 60 apartments available and no risk of losing the reservation deposit, it makes sense to join the Priority Reservation List today.
