W. Bruce Lunsford

Chairman, Chief Executive Officer – Lunsford Capital, LLC.
Chairman, Arcadia Communities, LLC.

W. Bruce Lunsford is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lunsford Capital, LLC, a private investment company founded in 2003 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. He is the founder and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ventas, Inc., in Louisville, Kentucky, a healthcare real estate investment company (REIT), which owns or leases more than 360 healthcare facilities across the country.

Mr. Lunsford is also the founder, former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vencor, Inc., a Fortune 500 healthcare company, now known as Kindred Healthcare based in Louisville, Kentucky. During his 15-year tenure, Vencor became the largest full-service, long-term healthcare provider in the United States. The network consisted of 61 long-term acute care hospitals, 293 skilled nursing centers and employed over 65,000.

In 1996, Mr. Lunsford founded Atria Communities Inc., the third largest assisted living company in the U.S. He served as Atria’s Chairman and recruited its original management team. In 1998, Atria was sold to Lazard Freres, and the company continues to maintain its headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mr. Lunsford is Chairman of Valor Healthcare, Inc., a company that develops and operates outpatient clinics for military veterans under the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Mr. Lunsford continues to invest in a variety of businesses, however, he gains his most satisfaction from offering his time and talents to help small startup businesses grow and succeed.

An individual with varied interests, Mr. Lunsford is an accomplished thoroughbred owner and breeder, as well as a former member of the Board of Directors of Churchill Downs Incorporated.

Mr. Lunsford also served on several other public company boards including National City Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio and Rescare, Inc., Louisville, Kentucky. He has also participated in public service in both the non-profit and governmental sectors as a member of numerous boards and commissions.

Brian P. Durbin

President – Arcadia Communities, LLC.

Brian P. Durbin, President of Arcadia Communities, has over 25 years of management experience in healthcare and senior living. He founded Arcadia Communities in 2004 with Chairman Bruce Lunsford, and has served as President of the Company since its inception. Prior to joining Arcadia, Brian spent the majority of his career working for one of the largest Senior Living Companies in the Country. His career in Senior Living began as an Executive Director over a single community and progressed to a senior level Executive position overseeing Assisted and Independent Living operations in multiple states. During his tenure with his prior company, Brian received a number of honors including being recognized as one of five individuals named “Executive Directors of the Year.” He was awarded this designation on three different occasions.

Since Arcadia’s founding, Brian has guided the company through substantial growth as well as achieving a number of honors and acknowledgments including membership into Business First’s Fastest Growing Private Companies on 2 occasions, the very competitive Emerging Business of the Year in Louisville award, as well as multiple designations as an Essential Partner in Healthcare for the State of Kentucky. Brian is also very proud that many of the company’s communities have received multiple awards for Best Senior Living Community (4 of our communities have won this award a combined 10 times), Best Employer of the Year (3 occasions) as well as a number of other acknowledgments. Brian prides himself on building loyal and lasting relationships with his peers and team members and has worked very hard to build a positive company culture which has resulted in great continuity for the company and very little turnover.

Brian’s guiding philosophy in operating the company is his belief that to truly succeed in business you must first operate from the perspective of serving others with honesty, genuineness, integrity and compassion.

Brian holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Louisville, and a Masters Degree in Public Health Administration from the University of Kentucky. He resides on the family farm outside of Louisville with his wife Mary Jo and their three daughters.

Kristie Kronk

Chief Operating Officer – Arcadia Communities, LLC.

Kristie Kronk, Chief Operating Officer, brings over 26 years of experience in Senior Living Operations most recently serving as Sr. Vice President of Operations at Eclipse Senior Living/Elmcroft Senior Living responsible for over 100 communities in 29 States. Kristie has had a varied and successful career in the Long-Term Care and Assisted Living Industry previously holding positions including Regional Sales and Marketing Director, Regional Director of Operations, VP of Resident and Quality Services, and most recently as the SVP of Operations.

Kristie has a unique ability to see the big picture from ensuring quality care is being delivered, selling and increasing occupancy, to supporting community profitability. Kristie started in Senior Housing in 1993 and has never looked back. She has a very deep and diverse operational background and has been directly responsible for driving safety and quality care initiatives, developing quality dining and activity experiences, as well as maintaining strong occupancy and expense controls that lead to successful financial results. Kristie describes her passions in life as spending time with her family and friends including her three children (age 25, 22, 20) and serving Seniors.

Kristie graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1990 and resides in Louisville, Ky.

Justin Vetter, CPA

Controller – Arcadia Communities, LLC.

Justin serves as Chief Financial Officer for Arcadia Communities. Justin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both public and private accounting to the company. Justin’s role in Arcadia Communities has been to lead accounting, finance, compliance and budgetary processes for Arcadia Communities and all managed properties. Justin works closely with our lenders and investors to ensure Arcadia continues to build financial momentum to serve the seniors of Arcadia.

Prior to joining Arcadia Communities, Justin spent three years in the Louisville office of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP performing financial statement audits with his major focus on publicly traded insurance and international manufacturing clients. During his 2 years with a regional accounting firm based in Louisville, KY, Justin worked extensively with consulting and financial statement audits within the health care industry; including hospitals, senior living facilities and physician practices. Justin assisted these health care clients with financial forecasts, budgetary processes, and reimbursement solutions.

Justin holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Kentucky, and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Bellarmine University and is a Certified Public Accounting. Mr. Vetter was recently named “40 Under 40” by Business First in Louisville, KY. Justin is very active with multiple organizations: Audit & Administrative Committee @ Our Lady of Lourds church, Leadership Council of KY CPA, and Junior Achievement. He resides in Louisville, KY with his wife Andrea and their children Emily, Lily, Charlee and Brody.
